As of July 1, 2024, the equivalence of Türkiye’s approval system for food facilities has been unilaterally recognized by Azerbaijan, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov at the 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, APA reports.
Ali Asadov said that despite this, the export of high-risk products from Azerbaijan to Türkiye is generally not permitted, and the issue of recognizing the equivalence of the relevant approval system is not being considered: “We are very hopeful for a positive resolution of this issue. Matters related to food safety will also be reported to us today.”
