“A peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia has been initialed after many years. I would like to congratulate Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people,” Slovak President Peter Pellegrini said during a joint press statement with President Ilham Aliyev, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Slovakia reports.
The Slovak President stated that attention will now shift to the post-conflict period: “Azerbaijan can play a leading role in Slovakia. In the long-term perspective, Azerbaijan may become a strategic partner for us. Our delegations will continue negotiations so that we can benefit from Azerbaijan’s energy resources. In the field of the defense industry, we do not intend merely to sell weapons to Azerbaijan. We have extensive experience in self-propelled artillery systems and other similar areas. We can work with Azerbaijan on technology transfer and joint production. Together, we can sell the products we manufacture to third countries.”
Pellegrini noted that Azerbaijan has already expressed its intention to purchase artillery systems.
The Slovak President stated that these weapons will further strengthen the power of the Azerbaijani Army.
