Peacekeepers' being a mere spectator to the provocations create serious discontent - Azerbaijani MP

“President Ilham Aliyev visited Agdam yesterday and noted in his speech that it is possible that a peace agreement will be signed with the Armenians one day. However we should not forget Armenian vandalism,” said deputy Hikmat Mammadov at the meeting of the Milli Majlis held today, APA reports.

The deputy noted that President’s speech should be a road map for us: “Although if we sign a peace agreement with Armenia we should not forget their vandalism, atrocity, especially in our activity abroad.”

Deputy Jeyhun Mammadov stated that President Ilham Aliyev made a serious warning to Armenia in his Agdam visit: “In recent days, separatist provocations in areas controlled by peacekeepers have become more persistent. Shelling the territory of tartar, conducting active construction in Khojaly, digging trenches, shooting the employee of Bakcell, voicing constantly provocative statements by separatists, views on developing draft law “on the occupation of Artsakh” and other provocative acts once again confirm it. Peacekeepers being a mere spectator to this process, supporting in some cases, rightly causes serious dissatisfaction in the Azerbaijani society. The main mission of the peacekeepers is to ensure peace, mutual trust, co-existence among the people of the region. Unfortunately, peacekeepers do not take any serious steps regarding these issues. On the contrary, they are busy with humanitarian actions here. Armenians taking advantage of it, carries out their malicious and insidious intentions, continue to conduct new provocations.”
