“We must adopt the declaration and lay the foundation for media cooperation among D-8 countries,” Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the D-8 Media Forum on Fostering Dialogue, Collaboration, and Regional Cohesion, APA reports.
“86% of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 30. During the conflict with India, the media activity of Pakistan’s Generation Z played a very important role. Thanks to their efforts, Pakistan was able to assert its rightful position in the global information space. I believe we must adopt the Baku Declaration and achieve media cooperation among D-8 countries,” the minister said.
He also expressed satisfaction that Azerbaijan is a full member of the D-8 group and emphasised Pakistan’s support for the measures implemented by Azerbaijan to create a healthy information environment.
