The member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have been urged to cover the deliberate destruction of Islamic historical and cultural monuments and shrines on Azerbaijani territory as a result of Armenian aggression in the mass media and social media more actively, it reflected on the "Istanbul Declaration," which was adopted at the XII session of OIC information ministers held in Istanbul, APA’s Istanbul correspondent reports.
A similar call was issued to OIC member countries' media outlets to raise global awareness of deliberate destruction and desecration of Islamic cultural heritage in non-Muslim countries, particularly in areas where local Muslims have been ethnically cleansed.
The document proposed the establishment of a Media Forum under the Organization in this regard.
Furthermore, the significance of close cooperation in combating Islamophobia and misinformation directed at Muslim countries was emphasized.
