Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Yousef bin Ahmad Al Osaymin congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the glorious victory in the 44-day war and November 8 - Victory Day, APA reports.
The statement of the OIC Secretariat General said that the head of the organization honored the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the lands.
The document says that the organization has always supported the settlement of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the basis of UN Security Council resolutions.
The statement reads: “We reiterate our call on the Republic of Armenia to respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan and to renounce any territorial claims.
The Secretary-General praised the restoration and reconstruction work carried out by the Azerbaijani government to return IDPs to their homes during the post-conflict period and called on the international community to actively support this process.
