“Baku Climate Week is very important for us. Throughout the week, Baku will be the beating heart in this direction,” COP29 High-Level Champion and Member of the Milli Majlis Nigar Arpadarai said during her speech at the Fourth Climate Week (CW4) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baku, APA reports.
She said Baku Climate Action Week is being organized within the framework of shared goals and areas of cooperation with London Climate Action Week.
Nigar Arpadarai noted that Baku Climate Week is being held for the third time, which demonstrates the initiative’s lasting impact.
According to her, the event will feature discussions on reducing carbon emissions, renewable energy, the future of cities and other important climate issues: “This is the first time that Baku Climate Action Week coincides with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Climate Week. Following the events in Baku, attention will turn to Antalya, where COP31 will be held. Resilience and climate will also be among the main areas of discussion at the events,” she said.
