On April 3, the next round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MFA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy was held in Baku, MFA told APA.
In the political consultations, the delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalaf Khalafov from the Azerbaijani side, by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Edmondo Cirielli from the Italian side.
During the consultations, multidimensional strategic partnership based on the traditional friendship and mutual confidence between the two countries, and prospects of its strengthening, the opportunities of expanding relations in the spheres of political, trade-economic, energy, defence and security, transport, logistics, humanitarian, culture and education were discussed.
Deputy Minister Khalaf Khalafov emphasized that the continuation of high-level political dialogue in recent years, the visits of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to Italy, and the President of the Republic of Italy Mr. Sergio Mattarella to Azerbaijan played a special role in ensuring the current high level of relations.
