In the near future, high-level visits of Azerbaijani and Iranian officials will take place, said Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Ali Alizadeh in an interview with ISNA, APA reports.
Ali Alizadeh spoke about the holding of the last meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Karabakh and the future prospects of the organization, noting that this year's meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in the city of Khankendi, located in Karabakh, for the first time since the liberation of the territories.
"Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian attended this meeting along with the leaders of other member states. This meeting was held within the framework of the ECO week, which included specialized sessions on women and youth, as well as the main meeting," the Azerbaijani ambassador said.
According to the ambassador, the results of the meeting and side events were very successful. "Azerbaijan, as a member of the ECO, is committed to strengthening cooperation and making more efforts to develop relations between member states," Ali Alizadeh emphasized.
On the topic of prospects for economic cooperation, the Azerbaijani diplomat pointed to the growing dynamics of economic relations between the OIC member states and noted that the volume of trade between the member states increases every year and these relations in the economic and trade sphere will be further strengthened.
Ali Alizadeh characterized the relations between the Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan as brotherly and friendly. “I hope everything will go in the direction of development. As you know, the President of Iran has made two successful visits to Azerbaijan so far, and in the near future, high-level — but not at the level of presidents — meetings and mutual visits will be held between the parties,” the Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran said.
