"The events that took place and around Ukraine are a matter of serious concern," said Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, APA reports.
He said that under the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan, contacts have been established with the bordering states regarding Azerbaijanis in Ukraine.
According to the Deputy Minister, more than 500 Azerbaijani citizens arrived in the country on three charter flights from the Romanian city of Iaşi: “800 of our citizens were evacuated from Kharkiv to safer areas. Our citizens are not required to have a visa, PCR test and COVID-19 passport.
Elnur Mammadov noted that 2050 Azerbaijani citizens crossed from Ukraine to other neighboring countries: "They moved to Moldova, then to Romania."
