“Negotiations are ongoing with five countries to ensure visa-free travel,” said Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, in response to a question from APA TV at a press conference summarizing the results of the year.
He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is carrying out continuous efforts to increase the number of countries offering a visa-free regime in order to facilitate travel for Azerbaijani citizens: “In this matter, we consider and analyze a number of factors, including the principle of reciprocity. Currently, a visa-free travel regime exists with countries such as the UAE, Qatar, Morocco, Serbia, and China. Of course, this applies only to ordinary citizens. When it comes to diplomatic visas, the number of countries we cooperate with is much higher. In 2025 alone, 10 agreements related to diplomatic passports were signed with foreign countries, bringing the total number of such countries to 74.”
