"I would like to especially highlight the issue of the establishment of International Turkic Language Day," Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during his video speech at the opening ceremony of the 9th Meeting of the National Commission for UNESCO member countries of the TURKSOY jointly organized by the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the University of ADA, and the Institute of the Development and Diplomacy of the University, APA reports.
"In the Statement adopted at the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Ankara on March 16 with the initiative of Azerbaijan, the leaders of the member countries reaffirmed their full support for the declaration of the International Turkic Language Day by UNESCO. We express our belief that the establishment of the International Turkic Language Day will be approved at the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Conference," he added.
