Minister: Expansion of Baku-Amman flights is considered

The expansion of cooperation in the field of air transport between Azerbaijan and Jordan is being discussed, said the co-chair of the Intergovernmental Commission from Azerbaijan, Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev, at the 4th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Jordan Intergovernmental Commission, APA-Economics reports.

The minister stated that in recent years, two Jordanian airlines have operated charter flights to Azerbaijan, but the number of these flights has been limited. According to him, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has organized direct flights to Amman after the summer season this year, and next year, the expansion of these flights is being considered.

Sahil Babayev also noted that the parties are discussing the possibilities of transitioning from charter to regular commercial flights. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the tourism agencies of both countries to increase tourism flows.
