The British government welcomes the steps taken by Armenia and Azerbaijan to normalize relations after the Karabakh conflict in 2020 and is closely following the events, said Lord Tariq Ahmed, British Deputy Minister of State for South Asia and North Africa, APA's British bureau reports.
He noted that on March 29 and 31, Minister of State for Europe and North America James Cleverley met with the ambassadors of Azerbaijan and Armenia, respectively.
"The British government will continue to encourage the parties to participate in the negotiations to ensure stability and security in the region," added Lord Tariq Ahmed.
