"I also informed the Belgian FM of the process of delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian borders," said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov as he gave a joint briefing with Belgian counterpart Hadja Lahbib in Baku, APA reports.
“I noted that, there was not opportunity to start the delimitation process between the two neighbors for 30 years. Armenia’s occupation policy and the occupation of the 400-km border of the territory of Azerbaijan was reason for this. A chance arose to start the delimitation process after the Patriotic War. At the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, a commission was established by the two countriess and a number of meetings were held in 2022. The Azerbaijani side supports the acceleration and clarification of the process. Of course, on the condition of maintaining the norms and principles of international law…” the minister noted.
