MFA: Peacekeepers did not take measures to prevent illegal exploitation of Azerbaijan's natural resources

"The Azerbaijani side has repeatedly appealed to the command of the peacekeeping contingent in order to prevent the illegal exploitation of natural resources in the Azerbaijani territories where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed, as well as to eliminate the consequences of the negative impact on the environment," Aykhan Hajizadeh, head of the press service department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in response to a question of "For the purpose of initial monitoring of the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits, as well as the deterioration of the ecological situation in the territories of Azerbaijan where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily located, the entry of representatives of the state institutions and experts of the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented. We would like to know your attitude to this issue."

It was noted that in many cases, these appeals of the Azerbaijani side were not answered, and no measures were taken to prevent the illegal exploitation of Azerbaijan's natural resources by the peacekeeping contingent.
