MFA: Azerbaijan has always been committed to UN principles

The UN has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, said Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, APA reports.

He recalled that UN Security Council resolutions condemned the aggression against Azerbaijan, supported the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and called on Armenia to withdraw its troops from Azerbaijani lands: “The UN General Assembly has also demonstrated the same approach. UN officials got acquainted with the severe consequences of the conflict. These visits show that the UN leadership stands by Azerbaijan and supports its just position.

According to him, during its membership in the UN Security Council, Azerbaijan supported keeping peace and security issues on the agenda and reaching a consensus.

"Azerbaijan, as a responsible member of the United Nations, has always been committed to its principles and will continue such activity in the future," Elnur Mammadov added.
