Memorial ceremony was held at the Azerbaijani Embassy in London-PHOTO

A memorial ceremony was held at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in London regarding the recent tragic events, APA's Britain bureau reports.

Thus, first of all, the dear memory of Orkhan Asgarov, who was heroically martyred while defending our embassy in Tehran, was honored.

Ambassador Elin Suleymanov expressed his regret that such an unbelievable incident happened in the capital of the neighboring country.

Later, during his speech, Ambassador Suleymanov wished patience to the family of our brothers and sisters who died as a result of the devastating earthquake in Turkiye.

It was also emphasized that the losses caused by the earthquakes in Syria and Xoy were disappointing.

He said that he is proud that Azerbaijanis all around the world, particularly in Azerbaijan, have unified as one fist and have actively participated in campaigns to help brother Turkiye.

At the event, Ambassador Suleymanov and Dr. Ali Tekin Atalar, head of the London-based Azerbaijan House Culture and Friendship Center, expressed their sadness over the death of Fakhreddin Gurbanov, Azerbaijan's ambassador to several countries, including the United Kingdom, and shared fond memories of him.

It was noted that F. Gurbanov was a cheerful person, and he was always closely interested in the problems of Azerbaijanis in the countries where he worked.

Following the speeches, a minute of silence was held in memory of the deceased, along with all event participants.
