Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Chairman of the State Council of Oman Sheikh Abdulmalik Al Khalili within the framework of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, MFA told APA.
During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the development of relations based on friendship and mutual respect between Azerbaijan and Oman, and discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation in various directions, including in the economic, trade, energy and humanitarian spheres.
The development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between two countries was noted with satisfaction, and it was emphasized that the establishment of friendship groups in both Parliaments is an important step towards the development of relations.
The important role of bilateral political contacts in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Oman was emphasized at the meeting.
It was noted that the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Oman has created new opportunities for further expansion of cooperation and deepening of relations between the two countries.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the importance of Azerbaijan hosting the next Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku in 2026, noting that these events will create new opportunities for cooperation in terms of promoting dialogue, solidarity and the principles of sustainable development.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on regional and international issues, including other issues of mutual interest.
