Italy views Azerbaijan as a reliable partner, said Edmondo Cirielli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, at the 6th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Italy Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, APA reports.
“Azerbaijan presents itself to us primarily as an oil and gas supplier. Energy issues occupy a very important place in our relations. We also feel close to Azerbaijan as a people in the cultural sphere,” Cirielli noted.
The deputy minister said that Italy supports Azerbaijan’s efforts to diversify its energy sources, adding that his country is ready to provide certain advice to Azerbaijan in this area.
Cirielli also emphasized that Azerbaijan’s high-level hosting of COP29 is commendable.
