It is surprising to see Armenia among countries with developed democracy - Russian expert

"A list of the countries, to participate in the Summit for Democracy called by the United States of America, has been confirmed forecasts of some world policymakers and experts regarding the beginning of the formation of new structures of Washington which perceived that it has lost its dominant position in many international structures. The US has started to form structures that are alternative to the structures that have lost its dominant position, and are absolutely under its control", the Russian political analyst Vitaly Arkov told APA's Moscow bureau.

According to him, AUKUS (UK, US, and Australia security pact-red.) that has emerged before, is also a part of this process: "Now, it is the turn of the "Summit for democracy", after that, as it is being expected, it will be announced to establish an alternative structure to the UN".

Russian expert also spoke about the list of participants of “Summit for Democracy”: “Many states of Africa continent are seen in the list, in which democracy is nearly a swear, military coups exceed harvesting. It is also surprising that Armenia, where Nikol Pashinyan seized the power in spring of 2018, is among the countries that have developed democracy. All elections, held during Pashinyan’s authority, have not withstood any criticism. Criminal prosecution of former presidents and other opposing politicians is not hidden in the country. The countries invited to the summit will not unequivocally understand the current leadership of Georgia because of former President Saakashvili's hunger strike in prison. I bring to your attention that the representatives of Joe Biden Administration require release of Saakashvili. It is impossible not to remember the joke of “Democracy is the dictatorship of the Democratic Party of the United States". Repressions against former US President Donald Trump and Republicans observed until today clearly showed a new version of democracy concept of a new owner of the White House Joe Biden and his team. It means that the countries, invited to the “Summit for Democracy” are those, which share the “democratic values” of the US. However, countries, which support classic democracy, have not been considered worthy to be invited.”
