"Azerbaijan is a Muslim country, and its strategic position increases the importance of relations between us and turns it into a great potential," said Israel's Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, APA reports.
"I am going on an important political visit today in order to deepen our cooperation in the fields of security, economy, innovation, and energy together with our friends in Baku, especially to create a strong and united front against common challenges," he said.
Mr Minister also noted that there is an economic delegation of important Israeli companies on today's visit.
Eli Cohen emphasized the need to increase the trade volume in order to further improve the existing relations between Israel and Azerbaijan.
