The media of the D-8 member countries must act on a united front, said Alireza Miryousefi Aval, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Director General of Foreign Media, during his speech at the D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization Media Forum held in Baku, APA reports.
“Direct and unmediated contacts between our journalists, editors, and researchers can serve this purpose,” he noted.
The Iranian representative proposed ensuring professional exchanges between media institutions, including short-term visits, the opening of permanent media offices, and joint content production, in order to enhance cooperation within the media community of the member countries.
“These initiatives do not require large financial resources; rather, they are based on the existing capabilities and shared will of our peoples and institutions.
If we take these steps consistently, we will not only improve the quality of information in the region but also strengthen the global visibility of the member states—both within our own societies and on the international stage,” he said.
