Iran considers Garabagh as a part of Azerbaijan, Nasser Kanaani, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran said this at a press conference in response to a question about the "elections" held by the puppet regime in the Garabagh territory of Azerbaijan on September 9, APA reports.
“Iran’s position is clear, stable, and transparent. Iran’s position regarding the Garabagh territory is not secret from anyone. Garabagh is part of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the rights and security of the residents of this region should be determined and ensured within a concrete framework. This is our clear position.
We always assert the importance of respecting the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries and refraining from any actions that create tension,” Kanaani stressed.
The official of the Iranian MFA added that his country is against any change in internationally recognized borders.
