Iranian ambassador: "We observe leap, development in Iranian-Azerbaijani relations"

"Iran's foreign policy is based on the development of relations with neighbors. Development of relations with the neighbors is a priority of our foreign policy," said Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyid Abbas Mousavi at the press conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan-Iran diplomatic relations, APA reports.

He noted that 3 visits have been carried out after the election of the new Iranian president so far, these visits were to neighboring and regional countries.

The diplomat recalled that Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents have met in Ashgabad and this visit has been beneficial.

“The meeting of Iranian President with Azerbaijani leader is considered a turning point in the development of the relations. I am glad that we observe a leap, in development in our relations after that meeting. This development shows itself in all fields- political, economic, security fields. The two countries have also cooperated well in international organizations, support each other’s positions. I hope that the development of our relations will continue in that way. I hope that cooperation at the international level, 3+3 platform will strengthen with joining of all regional countries in near future,” Abbas Musavi noted.
