An international parliamentary conference to mark the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at the Milli Majlis (Parliament), APA reports.
The Speaker of the Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, stated that the historic mission diligently carried out by the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, made it possible to lay the foundations for the modern state.
The Speaker noted that the Constitution, prepared under Heydar Aliyev’s leadership, established the principles of the separation of powers and created guarantees for human rights and freedoms: “Our Constitution is also a symbol of confidence in the future and of the nation-building era.”

An international parliamentary conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan has begun at the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), APA reports.
The conference is dedicated to the topic “The Constitution as the Foundation of the Independence and Sovereignty of States in the Modern World.”
Within the framework of the conference, participants will exchange views on the role of constitutions in strengthening the legal foundations of modern states and on the protection of state sovereignty and national independence.
The event is attended by parliamentary delegations from nearly 20 countries, as well as representatives of 5 international organizations.
