Important decisions to be made on future of organization at VIII summit of the Turkic Council -Cavusoglu says

Important decisions will be made on the future of the organization at the 8th summit of the head of states of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council), said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at the meeting of the Turkish Council of Foreign Ministers held in Istanbul, APA reports.

According to him, Turkmenistan will become a member of the organization with observer status at the summit.

“Our family is completed with Turkmenistan’s becoming a member of the organization. We say welcome to Turkmenistan,” the head of MFA stressed.

Minister noted that name of the organization will be changed to Organization of Turkic States. M. Cavusoglu also added that it is already high time for it. Minister called on member states of the organization to be more active regarding issues on the international agenda. Note that the 8th Summit will be held in Istanbul tomorrow.
