The importance of Azerbaijan's full membership in the Central Asia Consultative Meetings has been explained, Speaking to APA's correspondent on assignment in Tashkent, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev, while speaking about the decision on Azerbaijan's full membership in the Central Asia Consultative Meetings, said that the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is now a thing of the past.

According to him, from now on, the horizons of Azerbaijan's foreign policy are also expanding.

"We have different geopolitical identities. On the one hand, Azerbaijan is a country in the South Caucasus, and on the other hand, it is a Central Asian country, belonging to the Caspian basin. Azerbaijan is an integral part of the Middle East region, is in the Black Sea basin. All this promises opportunities for Azerbaijan to pursue an active policy within the new foreign policy concept defined by the President. Therefore, this format promises great opportunities and possibilities for further deepening relations between the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, which are based on strategic partnership and alliance, and for expanding economic, trade, humanitarian, cultural relations, as well as transport and logistics relations between the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan," Hikmet Hajiyev said.
