The historic Washington agreement will completely transform the South Caucasus region, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Department for Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev, said at the Doha Forum held in Qatar, APA reports.
Hikmət Hajiyev noted that conflict and war had dominated the South Caucasus for the past 30 years and emphasized that this has finally come to an end: “I often refer to this as a ‘Camp David peace model’ for the South Caucasus. Of course, every conflict is different. Every geopolitical context is also different. But I am confident that the impact of this agreement will be similar.”
The Assistant to the President underlined that Azerbaijan has been waiting for peace for 30 years.
