“Heydar Aliyev is a national leader playing a significant role in the formation of modern Azerbaijan,” said the chairman of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili at the special meeting of the Milli Majlis dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, APA reports.

According to the Georgian speaker, Heydar Aliyev strengthened Azerbaijan’s national spirit and laid the foundation of the national statehood.

“He turned the country into a powerful, prosperous state by his efficient policy. Most important, he conquered the hearts of the people. Heydar Aliyev was a supporter of peace in the South Caucasus. He had ensured the establishment of strong, friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkiye energy transit routes are a sample of magnificent success under his exceptional leadership. Heydar Aliyev left a great legacy for Azerbaijan with his wisdom,” he added.
