Fazil Mustafa, Chairman of the Great Order Party and Head of the Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations at Milli Majlid (Azerbaijani Parliament), today met with representatives of U.S. media outlets visiting Azerbaijan, APA reports.
During the meeting, the chairman answered journalists' questions regarding Azerbaijan-U.S. relations, human rights issues, the religious and socio-political situation in the country, government-opposition relations, the current state of political parties and civil society entities, and the prospects for the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.
Fazil Mustafa spoke about Azerbaijan's unique environment of tolerance and multiculturalism, as well as the country's leading role in intercultural and intercivilizational dialogue. Addressing the grave consequences of Armenia's occupation policy, he emphasized that despite 30 years of occupation, Armenian-perpetrated genocide, and unprecedented acts of vandalism, Azerbaijan has taken the initiative in peace negotiations with a vision for the future.
The MP noted that normal conditions exist in the country for the activities of civil society institutions and political parties, and that the socio-political situation remains stable.
He also shared his party's stance on key issues, including the Turkic world, the Russia-Ukraine war, Azerbaijan-Russia relations, Azerbaijan-Iran relations and other current matters.
The meeting was attended by prominent U.S. journalists, including John Fund, Dennis Lennox, George Landrith, Michael Mosbacher, Matthew Foldi, Scott Morefield, Saul Anuzis, and Nikola Medic.
