The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, commented on the reports about Azerbaijani cargo trucks being held for a long time at the Tbilisi and Batumi customs checkpoints, APA's Georgia bureau reports.

In his response to a question from the local publication “Business Media,” he said that no such fact exists.

According to Kobakhidze, after inspections, it was determined that only one cargo truck had experienced a delay for a specific reason.

“We are ready to have a very sincere conversation about all possible difficulties,” he added.

Note that TIR drivers belonging to Azerbaijan have claimed that they were kept for more than 20 days without justification at customs checkpoints in Georgia.

Commenting on the circulating information, the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia stated that under the conditions of increased cargo turnover in the country, all customs procedures for vehicles involved in international transportation are carried out in a specially active mode.

It was noted that to ensure the continuity of international cargo turnover, intensive communication is maintained with the relevant customs authorities of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Armenia within the framework of joint management of customs checkpoints, and solutions to important problems are found promptly.
