Georgia welcomes the ongoing efforts to reach a lasting peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, said Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili during his speech at the 66th General Assembly of the BSEC PA in Sofia, APA's local bureau reports.
He called the establishment of peace a historic opportunity for the wider region.
"The achievement of peace has changed the security situation in the South Caucasus and opened up great potential for the Black Sea region as a whole in terms of economic progress and development of relations," the speaker added.
Papuashvili also noted that Georgia welcomes the steps taken towards the normalization of relations between Armenia and Türkiye.
