G77+China Summit highlights Armenia’s support for aggressive separatism

“The international community must raise its voice against aggressive separatism and strongly condemn such illegal activities. Separatism cannot be tolerated in a modern world that strives for peace, prosperity and sustainable development,” Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova said in her remarks at the general discussions of the G77+China Summit held in the Republic of Cuba, as she highlighted the steps taken by Armenia to escalate the situation in the region, APA reports.

The Milli Majlis Speaker noted that Azerbaijan took the initiative of the normalization process and the signing of the peace agreement with Armenia based on the norms and principles of international law, adding that this is the only way to achieve long-term peace and stability in the region. The speaker provided an insight into to the fact that, against the background of Azerbaijan’s sincere approach to the processes and the demonstration of loyalty, Armenia violates the previously reached agreements and by supporting separatism in the territories of Azerbaijan, continues its military-political provocations against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. “The so-called "presidential elections" recently held by an illegal organization in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan was another clear violation of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
