"Trade turnover between the European Union and Azerbaijan was USD 15.2 bln last year," said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov today at the press conference held after the meeting with the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varheli, APA reports
J. Bayramov has noted that the increase was mostly related to a price rise of gas: "Although Azerbaijan is an oil-gas exporter, pays special attention to the development of alternative energy sources. Azerbaijan has taken obligations in this field. There is a great potential in this direction and it has been discussed today."
Foreign Minister has added that Azerbaijan may play a role of a bridge in the field of transport between the EU and Central Asia: "Digital corridors were also among discussion themes."
