Foreign Minister: “Azerbaijan endured all the difficulties alone”

“One year ago, under the leadership of President Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani Army restored the historical justice and ended 30 years occupation,” said Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov at a conference titled “44-days Victory path” held at ADA University, APA reports.

Azerbaijani FM noted that the Azerbaijani Army showed special heroism and liberated our territories during 44 days, which had been occupied for 30 years.

“I want to talk about achieving independence by countries after the collapse of the great empire and the situation in Azerbaijan. Unexpectedly, Azerbaijan faced the problem of radical separatism, occupation of its territories, and more than 1 million refugees and internally displaced persons. One out of every 7 citizens were refugees and IDPs. Azerbaijan endured all difficulties alone, acted in accordance with its national interests, gave impetus to the development step by step, by uniting under the phenomenon of Heydar Aliyev. What are the consequences of facing the refugee problem in countries with large populations? Azerbaijani society unlike those societies did not radicalize, was devoted to national values. The basis of the success policy of our independent state was established in those periods,” stressed the FM.
