FM: Estonia considers Azerbaijan a very important partner in the region

Today, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna, who is visiting Azerbaijan, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA.

Speaking at the meeting about the friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation that unite Azerbaijan and Estonia, the Speaker of the Parliament said that mutual visits and meetings at the highest levels, as well as signed documents, play an important role in the development of interstate relations.

During the conversation, it was noted that there are good opportunities for further development of bilateral relations in various directions.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova shared her views on the Washington meeting and the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process with the guest, as well as provided information about her meeting with the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament in Geneva.

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, speaking about his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today, said that views were exchanged on deepening cooperation in various areas of bilateral relations. It was noted that Estonia considers Azerbaijan a very important partner in the region and is interested in strengthening relations in all areas.

He also congratulated on the achievements reached during the Washington meeting between Azerbaijan and Armenia and highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring peace, stability, and cooperation in the region.

The conversation emphasized that interparliamentary relations are an important component of bilateral and multilateral relations between the countries, and the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation on international platforms, including the importance of the activities of friendship groups operating in legislative bodies, was noted.
