"Russia's attack on Ukraine has had lasting and negative effects on the South Caucasus, both politically and economically," said the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Commission Josep Borrell at the European Parliament (EP) hearing on Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, the situation in Karabakh and the Lachin road, APA reports.
He emphasized that Russia's focus on Ukraine has affected the geopolitical balance in the South Caucasus.
As you know, Armenia applied for military support to the Russian-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) during the last military escalation with Azerbaijan in September 2022. However, Armenia did not receive any support from either Russia or the CSTO.
