The EU and EU Member States are the biggest international donors for demining in Azerbaija with around EUR 8 million, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko noted on his Twitter account, APA reports.
International Day for Mine Awareness & Assistance in Mine Action: We deplore all victims of landmines worldwide, including in Azerbaijan. The EU and EU Member States are the biggest international donors for demining in Azerbaija with around EUR 8 million. We will continue this support for demining, including by providing expert advice, and assistance to conflict-affected populations, rehabilitation and reconstruction. The EU is firmly committed to building sustainable peace in the region," EU Ambassador emphasized.
