"Presence of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh should not be considered as an additional difficulty in terms of regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.," said the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Commission Josep Borrell at the European Parliament (EP) hearing on Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, the situation in Karabakh and the Lachin road, APA reports.
"Of course, we needed the presence of certain peacekeepers. Russia was in a position to do it because it was accepted by Azerbaijan. This case was not with anyone else. Therefore, I think that the presence of Russian troops in this part of the world, in the middle of this conflict, should not be considered as an additional difficulty," Borrell said in response to the question of the AP deputy.
