The engagement of the peoples of both sides and their readiness for long-term sustainable peace is essential, it was stated in the statement of the President of the Council of the European Union Charles Michel regarding the meeting between the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, APA reports.
According to him, the development of discussions regarding the opening of transport connections was reviewed.
"In such a sensitive situation, every word spoken in public is clearly listened to and taken into account. The EU stands ready to further strengthen its support for long-term sustainable peace. The EU will also continue to push forward economic development for the benefit of both countries and their people," said Charles Michel.
