"We are interested in reducing tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia," said EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Oliver Varhely at the press conference held after the meeting with the Azerbaijani foreign minister Jeyhun Bayramov, APA reports.
Oliver Varhely noted that the EU is ready to support the delimitation and demarcation of the borders: "The EU is also ready to support demining. The EU is ready to provide not only technical but also financial support in these areas. We will try to determine in what forms support can be provided. The EU can support not only reconciliation but also reconstruction efforts".
The EU Commissioner also stressed that they see Azerbaijan as a partner that will act as a key partner in the region.
