The European Union (EU) issued a statement on the clash that took place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border yesterday, APA reports.
EU regrets the armed conflict that resulted in the death or injury of several Armenian and Azerbaijani servicemen.
"This incident once again emphasizes that if there is no delimited border, the borderline of 1991 should be respected, and the forces of both sides should be withdrawn from this line to a safe distance in order to avoid similar incidents.
Previous commitments, including those reached in October 2022 in Prague on mutual recognition of territorial integrity under the 1991 Almaty Declaration, must be respected.
The EU also calls for the intensification of border delimitation negotiations and is ready to support this process," says the statement.
