The Embassy of Palestine in Azerbaijan has issued a statement on the occasion of the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” APA reports.
In the statement, the Embassy expressed its deep gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan for its firm and consistent position on Palestine in international platforms.
“The Embassy of the State of Palestine in the Republic of Azerbaijan reiterates, on this day marked annually on November 29, the importance of international solidarity with the Palestinian people and the role this solidarity plays in defending our people's legitimate rights and ensuring they can live freely and with dignity in their own land,” the statement said.
It was noted that “international solidarity forms the basis of efforts aimed at ending the occupation and halting policies of annexation, settlement, and forced displacement.”
“This solidarity also signifies support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to self-determination, the establishment of an independent State of Palestine within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, as well as the right of refugees to return to their homeland and homes. These rights are grounded in the norms of international law and clear historical justice,” the statement emphasized.
On this occasion, the Embassy of the State of Palestine expresses its deep gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan for its firm and consistent position in defending the Palestinian cause across various international platforms. The Embassy highlights that this position is a clear expression of the brotherly relations uniting the two peoples and contributes to strengthening cooperation and joint efforts in the defense of justice and peace.
