“In order to accuse Azerbaijan of all possible sins and manipulate the humanitarian difficulties on the ground, the campaign launched by Armenia against Azerbaijan is a tactical step aimed at strengthening the status quo in the region and imitating its participation in the peace process,” Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments Elchin Amairbayov said in his interview with Deutsche Welle, APA reports.
He noted that Armenia is trying to blame Azerbaijan for the lack of progress in the peace process.
"Azerbaijan has repeatedly proved its goodwill and sincere desire to advance the peace process. We proposed the draft of the peace agreement to Armenia, and we are the ones who proposed to talk about the re-opening of communication lines and the delimitation of state borders.”
The representative of the president noted that the government of Azerbaijan considers the separatist organization in its sovereign territories as the only responsible party in the current humanitarian problem.
“Because they try to describe everything in black and white, accusing Azerbaijan of starving the population, but at the same time they reject any offer for compromise, delivery of all humanitarian needs, food through other roads. They have blocked the routes offered by Azerbaijan, supported by every interested party, to bring all humanitarian aid, including food, through other roads. So, if the population needs humanitarian aid or food, they cannot prove it to anyone by denying viable solutions,” Amirbayov added.
