On November 7, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Christos Kapodistrias, in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission in our country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highly appreciated Ambassador Kapodistrias’s services in the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Greece, expressed his gratitude to him, and wished him success in his future activities.
During the conversation with the ambassador, the recent dynamics in bilateral relations were assessed positively. In this context, the importance of the meetings held between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during the COP29 International Climate Conference held in Baku in November 2024, as well as within the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2025, was emphasized.
It was noted that the continuation of political dialogue between our countries is of great importance for the development of bilateral relations. Attention was drawn to the existence of great potential for further deepening cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy, transport-transit, tourism, education, and culture.
Ambassador Christos Kapodistrias, for his part, stated that he would remember his activity as the Ambassador of Greece to Azerbaijan with pleasant impressions and expressed his gratitude for the support provided to him during his mission.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
