“Donald Trump’s election as president created conditions for Azerbaijan–U.S. relations to move into a pragmatic and results-oriented phase," said Farhad Mammadov, Chairman of the Center for Studies of the South Caucasus (CSSC), during his speech at the 1st Azerbaijan–U.S. Think Tanks Forum, APA reports.
“The Biden–Blinken administration pursued a policy on the South Caucasus based not on facts, but on ideologies and the influence of the Armenian lobby. This administration did not understand Azerbaijan’s legitimate demands. Instead of demonstrating an active approach to the Karabakh issue, Biden left the work to Blinken. Blinken, however, was ineffective, and his efforts produced no concrete results. He even put forward preliminary conditions against Azerbaijan. In reality, the policy pursued by the Biden administration further increased Armenia’s dependence on Russia. This was not in the interest of the United States,” Farhad Mammadov stated.
