Contacts on defining Azerbaijani-Armenian border are underway - Russian MFA

Work on implementation trilateral statements continue in all fields, said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mariya Zakharova at the briefing held today, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to her, during the latest phone call, Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergey Lavrov discussed the implementation of a trilateral statement of Russian, Azerbaijani, and Armenian leaders, sated November 9, 2020, that ended the conflict in Karabakh.

M. Zakharova noted that the ministers emphasized the situation in the region has stabilized, ceasefire regime is generally followed.

"Baku and Yerevan highly appreciate the role of the Russian peacekeepers. Separate occurred incidents are regulated by the relevant cooperation channels by both sides", said the Russian MFA official.

M. Zakharova noted that an effort is made for the restoration of transport connections in the South Caucasus. She has also recalled that the 8th meeting of the Trilateral Working Group has been held in Moscow on October 20: "Contacts continue with the line of foreign and defense ministries, border services. We see a comprehensive solution to the problems associated with the process of delimitation and demarcation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. Active work is being carried out by the line of co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group."
