British MP: I try to understand why the occupiers removed the corpses from the graves in Ağdam

“As a part of a delegation of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, I am on a visit to the region. The main reason for our visit to these territories is to see efforts on demining and the works being done. UK and companies from this country support this process," member of the UK Parliament, David Duguid who is on a visit to Ağdam told APA.

According to him, after arriving in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, they naturally got more information and witnessed the process: "The scale of the destruction that happened here is saddening. However, the work done here, and the efforts made are gratifying. I am very glad that the British government is helping with some of the reconstruction work in these areas. Nice to see that. What we hear here about the cemetery is painful. I am trying to understand why the occupying forces removed the corpses from the graves. What could be the reason for this? Another question makes us think, why did they occupy this land and then just destroy it? All this is really very strange."

British parliamentarian also stressed that his visit to Agdam has a significant meaning to him. He had lived and worked in Baku at the beginning of the 2000s: “I was aware of the ongoing conflict at that time, but I haven't seen these. What surprised me and the delegation is that the occupying forces just occupied this place, they did not try to build anything here, they did not live here, and they just wrecked these areas for the sake of destruction. It is really difficult to understand, to see the logic here”.
