"People want to return to territories, which they left 30 years ago, these lands should be cleaned from mines for it," said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to Azerbaijan James Sharp at the conference, APA reports.

The diplomat has stressed that Britain has also allocated financial assistance to the process.

"We support Azerbaijan's opinion of the establishment of global funds. ANAMA should be provided with more assistance. As Britain, we are proud that we contribute to the resolution of the problem, we contribute to decreasing people's pain, to reconciliation. I have visited territories liberated from occupation, seen reconstruction works in these lands, roads, an airport, a railway are being established and I have witnessed them. It is a great achievement, I congratulate you! Certainly, all of these have also been possible thanks to ANAMA's activity. Clearance of mines is essential for people's security and we believe that Azerbaijan will demonstrate leadership in this field at a global level."
